IndyCar has mastered the industry of open-wheel car racing. But in the 2020’s, having an online presence and persona not only grows your business & brand, and helps you reach new & available consumers.  That increased presence can also lead to increased viewership and monetization.

Their goal was to not only produce compelling content for TV and streaming platforms, but to work with an agency that can create organic & fun pieces for their social & digital platforms.

We raced for the chance and lined up for the challenge.

HIT THE TRACK!

Studio City PXL worked meticulously with NBC Sports and the IndyCar league to ensure that we could create the most amount of content in the shortest amount of time.

Efficient, effective, and economic… that’s how we tackled this project. We essentially filmed interviews with all 37 drivers in the league and captured on-track material and pit-lane footage, all with under 10 minutes available with each driver.  Then we needed to produce captivating social content over the course of four days and within their budget parameters, which they thought would be impossible.

We maximized our time with all the racers to make that happen, while still staying out of the way of why they were all there… racing!

LET’S RACE!

With all our efforts, we were able to go beyond just creating content for on-air.

We helped to introduce the exceptional "TinyCars" series, hosted by the one and only, James Hinchcliffe. This hilarious social series brings together racing legends like Alexander Rossi, Tony Kanaan and Will Power and guarantees an adrenaline-pumping experience for race fans – perfect for sharing across all platforms.

While filming, we also captured behind-the-scenes moments and convinced the drivers to showcase their comedic skills in a viral-worthy karaoke content piece and ASMR video.

CROSS THE FINISH LINE!

The results have been exceptional.

Since the introduction of our produced content to loyal & new fans, IndyCar has seen remarkable growth across their social channels, not only in follower count but also user engagement.

The content also had a very long shelf life, leading to 8+ Million in impressions, and impacted viewership on Peacock & NBC, with the NIT IndyCar Series delivering the most-watched IndyCar season in 12 years.  

It’s nice to finish in first place.
